Oops, we did it again. Another round of double zeros, on the house! We had previously planned for these double zeros in the schedule, so taking them wasn’t a big deal. The fiance needed to get some work done, so I took the time to write up blog posts, edit YouTube videos, and ice my knee.
Honestly, it was a good thing that we took these zeros. For one, the fiance’s poison ivy isn’t getting any better. He’s been trying different remedies to find some relief, but it just seems to get worse. It’s definitely not something you would want to deal with on trail.
With regard to my “injury,” my knee needed some well-earned rest. It hurts to bend it and it gets stiff if I sit with it bent for too long. I stopped by trusty Walmart here in Franklin and got a knee brace, so hopefully that will add some stability to my situation. My problem is my gait; I have too much twist in the knee when I walk and step down. I need to focus on engaging my glutes and quads, but it’s easier said than done when you’re tired after 10 miles of walking. But, I have faith that my knee brace will come in handy.
Not too much else to report for today. We just laid around, ate, and rested. What else do you need for a zero day?
And that’s days 19 & 20.
